Aydeen  /  Delete account

Delete your account.

You can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time. This page covers both Aydeen and Aydeen Verify — they share a single account. Two paths below — pick whichever you prefer.

Completes within: 24 hours Reversible: No Questions: privacy@aydeen.com

This page explains how to delete your account, what gets deleted, and what (if anything) we are required to retain. It applies to Aydeen and to Aydeen Verify. This complements §13 of our Privacy Policy.

Heads-up: deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Aydeen and Aydeen Verify share one account. If you sign in to both with the same Apple ID or Google account, they are the same account on our servers. Deleting from either app deletes both — including your Aydeen prayer history, Qur'an bookmarks and groups, even if you only ever meant to leave Aydeen Verify.

If you have an active subscription, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play before deleting your account so billing stays in sync. If you lead a group, members lose access — let them know first.

Two ways to delete

Recommended

From inside the app

Fastest path — deletion runs immediately and you'll see a confirmation in the app. Either app deletes the same account.

In Aydeen:

  1. Open Aydeen on your device.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy & Data.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted.

In Aydeen Verify:

  1. Open Aydeen Verify on your device.
  2. Tap the Account icon in the top bar.
  3. Tap Delete my account, then Continue.
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted.

What gets deleted

Deletion runs once, against the single account shared by both apps. Whichever app you start it from, all of the following is permanently removed from our systems:

Shared by both apps

  • Your user profile — name, email, phone, language, country, residency.
  • Your subscription entitlement record, and your subscriber record with RevenueCat, our billing processor. This does not cancel the subscription itself — see Subscriptions below.
  • Your crash and diagnostic records tied to your user ID (anonymised within 30 days).

Aydeen

  • Your prayer tracker history, including streaks and check-in records.
  • Your Qur'an bookmarks and last-read positions.
  • Your ritual checklist, du'a favourites, and Ask-a-Mufti history.
  • Your group memberships. If you are a group leader and the only leader, the group is dissolved. If there are other leaders, your name is removed from member-facing records.
  • Your device push tokens (so you stop receiving Aydeen notifications).

Aydeen Verify

  • Your server-side verification records — the quota counters and any stored text or citations from checks you ran.
  • Images you submitted are not kept on our servers after the check completes, so there is nothing left to delete. During the check the image is passed to OpenAI, which may hold the request for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and does not train on it.
  • Your verify history list is stored only on your device, not on our servers. Deleting your account does not touch it — clear it in the app, or uninstall.

What we retain (and why)

A small amount of data is retained for legal and accounting reasons. This data is unlinked from your identity wherever possible.

ItemRetentionReason
Subscription / in-app-purchase receipts 7 years Tax and audit obligations. Your name is replaced with a synthetic identifier; only the receipt amount, date, and SKU remain.
Aggregated crash and performance metrics Indefinite (anonymised) Stripped of all user identifiers within 30 days; used only for app stability tracking.
Backup snapshots Up to 30 days Standard rolling backup window. Your data is removed from new snapshots immediately; older snapshots expire on their normal schedule.

Aren't signed in? No account exists.

Both apps work without an account. Aydeen's core features — prayer times, qibla, Qur'an, daily du'as — need no sign-in, and Aydeen Verify checks the full Qur'an entirely on your device, free and unlimited, without one. If you've never signed in, there is no account associated with you and nothing for us to delete on the server side.

Local data on your device (bookmarks, prayer settings, checklist progress, Aydeen Verify's history list) lives only on that device. To remove it, simply uninstall the app or clear its data in your device settings.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription with Apple or Google — those billing relationships are managed by the store, not by us. Aydeen and Aydeen Verify are sold as separate subscriptions, so cancel each one you hold. To stop billing:

  • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Aydeen and/or Aydeen Verify → Cancel.
  • Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Aydeen and/or Aydeen Verify → Cancel.

Cancel before requesting account deletion if you want billing and account state to remain in sync.
